Dr. Ramesh Thondapu
Dentist
Dr. Ramesh Thondapu was born in the Midwest and grew up in Merced, California. He spent one year at Duke University prior to transferring to the University of California, San Diego. At UCSD he played on the Men’s Tennis Team and was a member of the NCAA Division II Final Four team in 2007. He received his B.S. in Biology in 2009.
He attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. At Tufts Dr. Thondapu participated in microbiology research which he presented at the ADA and AADR conferences. In 2014 he graduated Cum Laude from Tufts and was inducted into the O.K.U. honor society. He went on to obtain his specialty certificate in Endodontics from Tufts in 2016. His specific interests in endodontics include the pathophysiology of endodontic disease, bacteriology and biofilm structures, irrigation techniques and preservation of root dentin. To this end, he has introduced The GentleWave Procedure into his practice.
In 2017 Dr. Thondapu relocated to California. Before purchasing Dr. Steven Penn’s practice and starting Sattva Endodontics he spent four years in private endodontic practices in Roseville and Fairfield. He lives in Davis with his wife, Elizabeth, and son, Kiran. He enjoys biking to work. His interests outside of endodontics include cooking, all things tennis and other outdoor activities including hiking, biking and skiing. He loves to learn about and discuss history, foreign and domestic policy and environmental sustainability.
Dr. Thondapu is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, ADA, CDA, SDDS and the Davis Dental Institute. He expresses genuine care and open communication with his patients and strives to provide the highest quality endodontic treatment.
